Tiara Partsch

People are Things, April 2024— this devising process was my capstone project at the University of Michigan.

Born and raised in Luxembourg, Tiara is a director and writer; specializing in the creation of devised pieces, she focuses primarily on new works and physical theater practices. After graduating from the International School of Luxembourg, Tiara obtained a Directing BFA in Theatre Performance at the University of Michigan, with a Creative Writing Minor and a focus on Sociology Studies. She served as the local Ann Arbor parade director for the Little Amal Project in September 2023 and translated, devised and directed the show People are Things (Based off of Nina Bouraoui’s writings). She also directed Attempts on Her Life as a part of Rude Mechanicals’ 23-24 season.

People are Things, April 2024

Working with Rude Mechanicals on Martin Crimp’s iconic script Attempts on her Life was nothing short of a dream come true. Attempts is an explosive play- it begs us to reconsider the very ways we think about violence, representation, and the ways in which the latter shape our identities as individuals.
